How You Can Look and Feel Your Best – Even on Your Worst Days

It’s not always easy to look and feel our best, try as we might. This may be because our days are so busy that we simply don’t have time to take better care of ourselves. Wholeness, and even the notions of self-practice and self improvement, can seem like far-off dreams.

However, taking this approach to life doesn’t mean it’s acceptable. In fact, it’s often quite the contrary!  Especially if we feel less and less like ourselves as the days go by. That said, you can still look and feel your best.  Even on your not-so-great days. Olotita explains how.

Take time for self-care

Self-care is absolutely a necessity when it comes to feeling our best. So, if you’re feeling less-than, this is a telltale sign you might be due to step away from the daily grind and make time for you to enjoy things you love to do!  Whatever they might be! What are your self-care activities? Don’t ignore them – embrace them.

Exercise

Of course, we couldn’t possibly leave out the necessity of exercise to transform our lives for the better. Not only is exercise vital for your physical health to help prevent the onset of certain diseases and conditions. But Better Body Group notes that regular exercise can also boost your self-confidence too.  Especially if your goal is to look toned and as in shape as you can possibly be. Have you considered yoga? Olotita’s Yoga School, The Yoga Shala, provides yoga classes in Winter Park, FL (near Orlando).  They also offer virtual private yoga sessions.

Eat right

Eating right goes hand in hand with following a good exercise program. You can’t expect to see the results you’re after if your diet borders on being unhealthy. Therefore, follow a better eating plan. Take advantage of many tools at your disposal online. You’re sure to be impressed with your efforts in no time.

Sleep is a must

If you want to feel you are functioning at your best each and every day, then HelpGuide.org points out getting in those minimum hours of sleep per day will help you feel more and more like yourself.  This is especially true if you’ve been skimping on getting quality rest lately.

Ensure stress is kept to a minimum

High stress levels are one of those things that can quickly sap our joy and zest for life. So, if you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by the ill effects of stress, now may be the ideal time to start tackling those things that may be doing more harm than good. This could mean changing jobs, if you’ve been feeling restless for some time. Or, perhaps you just need to put those boundaries in place to make time for yourself at the end of the day. For example, you may see the benefits of working from home for your mental health.  Doing so can give you more time for family, sleep, exercise, and more!

Pursue your passions

If there are goals you’ve been putting off, why wait to pursue your dreams? For example, has going back to school for your advanced business degree or MBA is something you’ve considered to further your career?  Or if you’ve thought about giving your earnings a lift, now may be the time to do it. Completing college-level courses doesn’t have to be difficult or costly.  Especially if you choose to go the online route. Completing coursework online allows you to continue with your life and work schedule. There’s nothing quite like the sense of accomplishment you’ll get when you achieve that coveted degree.

Decluttering your home

Decluttering and reorganizing your home could work wonders for your mental health.  Doing so can help remove negative energy that might be making you feel worse than you already are. Letting in light and fresh air can create a calm, more peaceful atmosphere too!  And that will help appease critical family members and relieve tension in the home.

Lean on somebody

Sometimes the simplest things can set us on the right path.  Like having someone to talk to when you need to get things off your chest. If seeing a therapist in person is not your cup of tea, you could try the virtual version, which can be just as therapeutic.

Certainly, living our best lives means paying attention to ourselves from the inside out.  So that we can feel more whole and healed afterward. This can come in many forms, including exercise, a well-balanced diet, pursuing an online degree, and decluttering your living space.
