Self Care with Epsom Salt Baths

Self Care…a phrase that’s heard often these days…but how do you get started?

Sometimes life may seem overwhelming.  When that happens we can feel unsure about how to start incorporating more self care into our lives.  I’ve found it easier to start with a ritual a bit more tangible.  Something easy like taking a bath.

I prefer to take baths with epsom salts. There are countless benefits to taking a soak with epsom salts!  Doing so can help relieve minor aches and pains and reduce inflammation.  Yet, my favorite benefit is that it can help your body detox.

Here’s the recipe, I like to use:

  • 3 cups of epsom salt (start with one-two if it’s your first time)
  • I prefer to fill my tub with hot water to aid in the detox process
  • I love getting creative with my essential oils and add 15-20 drops of my favorite blends
  • My go to essential oils: 4 drops of peppermint, 4 drops of lavender, 4 drops of eucalyptus, & 2 drops of rosemary

I set a timer and soak for at least 30 minutes.  There is no need to shower afterwards.  However, I do like to rinse off with water to cool down and dry off.

I would suggest taking a bath at night since it does help you sleep.  Doing so definitely helps me fall asleep a little bit faster. Falling asleep can sometimes be quite difficult for me personally.  And even though every night isn’t perfect, I see a difference when I take a bath with epsom salts.

Make sure you purchase a high quality epsom salt from a reputable company.  Krista and I prefer EPSOAK Naturals Collection Pure Epsom Salt.  I think its an incredible quality product at an incredible price.  You can grab your own EPSOAK epsom salt from Amazon. Simply tap here to order.

I hope this helps you friend. Have a beautiful day.
