  • In today's fast-paced world, Ayurveda provides a way for women to live their lives more simply, more naturally, and more contentedly. The role of women in creating and sustaining balanced, healthy lives for themselves and their families has never been more crucial, and this compelling book will help them fulfill their potential, despite the numerous demands placed on them. Unlike many Western programs for health that treat all individuals the same, the 5,000-year-old science of Ayurveda identifies different physiological and psychological makeups and explains the lifestyle, diet, and environment most conducive to well-being for each. Ayurveda, India's "science of life," is particularly ideal for healing and empowering the female body, mind, and spirit. Ayurveda for Women explores in detail the landmark changes associated with the three stages of life -- childhood, adulthood, and old age -- and provides practical advice on exercise, sleep, diet, beauty care, meditation and massage, sex and relationships, childcare, menopause, and other issues central to women's lives today. Simple to enact and profound in effect, Ayurveda could be the answer many women are looking for. The first Westerner ever to graduate from a college of Ayurveda and be licensed to practice in India, Dr. Robert Svoboda is the leading advocate of Ayurveda in the United States. He teaches at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico, lectures around the world, and is the founder of Sushakti, a company providing traditional Ayurvedic products. His many books include the bestseller Ayurveda: Life, Health and Longevity.
  • Ayurvedic Healing presents the Ayurvedic treatment of common diseases, covering over eighty different ailments from the common cold to cancer. The present edition is a revised and expanded version of the original 1989 edition, covering additional diseases and adding new treatments. Elements of Body Mechanics

Physical body movement demands coordinated neurological integration in muscle for action potentials inside neurons to communicate with the cells in your muscle fibers, to facilitate and create electric (energy) signals for them to move.  Assuming your body’s internal blueprint is working as it should, one is able to move their body in space … which doesn’t mean they are doing so correctly, efficiently or safely.  If one can voluntarily move their limbs, then the only skills necessary to achieve optimal body movement are all based on one’s relationship to gravity. We are three-dimensional objects with mass. We take up space, we need things, and we interact with gravity all day - her weight, and pull, and pressure.  When we pay attention to our relationship to gravity, we become more aware of what’s required of us to maintain a healthy and reciprocal relationship with it. These skills are foundational elements of body positioning:  posture and alignment, balance, and coordinated movement.

    Benefits of Improved Body Mechanics:

The benefit of acquiring, studying, applying and working toward mastery of these skills is a healthier and happier vessel/body during our time on earth. Integrated, optimized and continuous body alignment brings body parts into position, promoting optimal balance and body function. We also benefit from more balanced sleep, waking hours and bowel movements. We experience less inflammation and pain, more energy, stamina and focus as cells become better oxygenated. When the whole body is aligned in an optimized way - whether lying, sitting or standing - the strain on any part of your body, from muscles to ligaments to tendons to joints, is minimized or eradicated. When aligned as we were meant to be, we are well-oiled machines that need very little from the external environment, not only to survive, but to massively thrive! These abilities help one to develop the skill of proprioception, or awareness or perception of the position, alignment and movement of the body.  Proprioception is like a sixth sense, mediated by mechanosensory neurons and proprioceptors within joints, tendons and muscles. Body mechanics training is powerful at any age or any stage in life. Its principles are tremendously valuable if you’ve had surgery or other physical trauma and need to retrain your brain and body to work together, or whether you’re 65 years old and want to learn how to move in your body and improve your time left to spend more time with the grandkids, or you’re close to mastering Ashtanga Yoga’s third series and need the tiniest of refinements to your practice so you can finally understand the thing you’re missing to master one or several asanas. These are powerful life skills rarely taught. You must seek the knowledge.

    Tuition and Enrollment:

Body mechanics evaluations are done in person. The consultation fee includes an initial 75-minute session, and one-hour follow-up, for $275. Additional sessions for continued body mechanics/physical movement education, assessments or programs are $175/60 minutes  | Special pricing is available through packages and memberships in our Shop. • Breathwork

    $165.00$1,800.00
Breathwork - an Energy Practice: While energy work was once and still is somewhat shrouded in a cloak of mysticism, our modern era is bringing some wonderful developments, such as the scientific study of human energy fields, brain sciences, epigenetics, meditation, contemplative practice, natural medicine and the like. Dr. Dispenza’s work and many others are now scientifically quantifying the amount of energy humans generate when they enter deep states of meditation and open their energy fields. We understand enough about microwaves and radiowaves and soundwaves to know that they exist, even though we cannot see them. We are beginning to truly study the science of the brain from the standpoint of its energy production, transmutation or mutation, coherence and more. We can literally measure people’s states of consciousness, and know exactly when they move from states of beta to alpha or gamma! Breathwork is a beautiful energy practice with so much depth, history, tradition and success, just like Reiki, yoga and meditation. All forms of energy healing work with the energy field of the human being to produce very measurable magnetic and electric effects. These, in turn, have very real and very measurable effects on the living tissue of the human body!  How cool is that?  Research continues to mount showing that different Hertz (Hz), cycles per second, produce different measurable effects on the body.  Science demonstrates that 2 Hz promotes nerve regeneration, 7 Hz stimulates bone growth, 10 Hz repairs ligaments, and at 15 Hz capillaries form. We can’t ignore the truth: Energy is what changes or determines matter - not the other way around.  By working with energy fields through practices such as breathwork, Reiki, yoga, meditation and more, you can change your body’s energetic frequency to bring itself back into balance. New or seasoned Breathwork practitioner: Regardless of your previous exposure to breathwork practices, ailments you are enduring, blockages you face internally and externally, or any fears surrounding more intuitive practices, we will start at your place on the journey and move ahead. For example, if you are brand new to any contemplative or yoga-based practices - great!  We will start at the very beginning teaching you how to connect with your breath, steadying your intake of oxygen and outtake of carbon dioxide. First we work to allow your body to take in more oxygen than in the past, which helps to promote relaxation, peace of mind and natural healing.  These introductory exercises activate the energy stores in your body, produce more energy for you to consume and use, and provide a foundation for all breathing exercises to come.  From here, newer students are gradually introduced to many more breathing techniques, educated about what they are and where they come from, and taught how to use them as tools for life. If you are experienced in a specific type of breathwork and want to go deeper in your practices, or are interested in learning new types of breathwork to supplement your tool box for optimal living, we can assist in your journey.  Krista has worked with people from all walks of life, abilities and disabilities, including professional athletes from many sports. She loves the fulfillment of working with every kind of person to help them achieve their goals of better physical, mental and spiritual health and wellness. Each Session:  Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Bring an eye mask, plus pen and paper to take notes at the end of your breathwork session.  We highly recommend making sure you have an empty stomach - it’s easier to access the more subtle energies of the body and mind when the body is not using its energy to digest food.  And, of course, always come with an open mind and joy in your heart for the things you are about to receive. After Each Session: Like all other more subtle energy practices, working with the breath is working directly with energy!  It is more subtle at first, until you work with the tool and acquire the skills being proffered. Once this occurs, the energy moves from something subtle to something very powerful and tangible. It’s only natural to want and need to express, to understand, to interpret your own emotions after a breathwork or other energy work session. As with Reiki or yoga or meditation, you may feel the urge to laugh, cry, let go, or surrender or hide or anything in between. Take time after each session to talk, or write, or do anything that helps you creatively express yourself. Krista will give you homework exercises. In the days and weeks after your session, practice those homework exercises consistently. If you invest time to disconnect from your outer world, and reconnect with your inner one via your breath, you will see progress in your efforts with energy work. When you feel ready for more instruction, or direction, or an assessment of your progress with the tools you’ve been working on, contact us to schedule another session.
